Health Care
Healthcare website design for clinics with two audiences
Patients arrive anxious and want three things: what you treat, who you are, and how to book. Referring physicians and partner agencies want a fourth: proof you're the real thing. The clinics, specialists, and community health services we've built for run on websites designed to serve both visitors at once.
What we build into a clinic's website
Healthcare sites carry more responsibility than most: they route real people toward care. These are the pieces that do the routing.
- 01
Booking, Front and Centre
Whatever your clinic books with — an online scheduler, a front desk, a referral queue — the website's job is to hand patients to it cleanly. One obvious button, no dead ends, and a phone number for the people who'd rather talk to a person. - 02
Services Without the Textbook
Each treatment or program gets its own page in plain language: what it is, who it helps, what a first visit looks like. Patients get answers; search engines get exactly the structure they reward. Same work, both payoffs. - 03
Credentials That Read Human
Practitioner pages that lead with the person and carry the letters — registrations, colleges, specialties — where patients and referrers can verify them. Trust in healthcare is checkable, so we make it easy to check. - 04
Accessibility as a Feature, Not a Footnote
When we redesigned AVI Health & Community Services, accessible and usable weren't afterthoughts — they were the brief, and the finished site was signed off on exactly those terms. Every clinic deserves the same standard; the people who most need care can least afford barriers. - 05
Resources for Referrers
Referring physicians skim differently: referral criteria, forms, contact routes, wait-time expectations. A quiet corner of the site built for them keeps your fax machine and your front desk from being the documentation. - 06
Forms That Respect Privacy
Intake and contact forms designed so sensitive details don't end up sitting in somebody's inbox. We keep the website on the right side of the line between "convenient" and "confidential" — and we'll flag it plainly when a requested feature crosses it.
From independent clinics to national associations
- Gloria P — PDS Inc★★★★★
Amazing experience working with this website designer! They were professional, responsive, and delivered a clean, modern site that exceeded our expectations.
LP — AVI Health & Community Services★★★★★I worked with Bryn on a website redesign for a non-profit client. He was a total delight to work with from start to finish. He was extremely friendly and pleasant to work with, always clear and consistent on timelines, and produced a beautiful, well-designed, accessible, usable site that we’re absolutely thrilled with, at a competitive price. I would recommend him wholeheartedly.
Ed T. — Nardella Clinic★★★★★Bryn is incredibly knowledgeable and very responsive to all our website needs. We highly recommend Becker.
Tell us who your patients are
A walk-in physio clinic, a referral-only specialist, a harm-reduction service — each needs a different front door. Tell us yours and we'll come back with a proposal that lays out the site, the specs, and the costs in plain terms.
Your website is a waiting room and a credentials file at the same time
Most clinic websites are written for one imaginary reader, and it shows. Write only for patients and the site goes soft — welcoming, vague, and useless to the physician deciding where to send a referral. Write only for professionals and it goes cold — accurate, dense, and quietly terrifying to the person googling symptoms they’re scared of.
The fix is structural, not stylistic. Patients get the front of the site: plain descriptions, friendly wayfinding, booking one tap away. Referrers and partners get their own clearly-marked paths: criteria, forms, clinical detail. Neither audience wades through the other’s material, and both leave with what they came for.
We’ve built this split enough times — clinics, specialists, community services — that we know where it strains: the treatment page that has to reassure a patient and satisfy a referring GP at once. That page gets written twice and linked once, and it’s worth the effort every time.
The healthcare work on our books
AVI Health & Community Services — a redesign for a health and community services organization with accessibility at the top of the brief: beautiful, accessible, usable, and delivered on schedule.
Canadian Retina Society — an association whose website speaks to specialists and the public without confusing either. The two-audience problem, solved at the association scale.
PDS Inc — a clean, modern rebuild, delivered past what they had asked for.
Nardella Clinic — a Calgary naturopathic clinic with a deep treatment catalogue; their site does the plain-language-services work described above, page by page. (Naturopaths get their own page here, for the same reason clinics get their own websites.)
The dental practices we’ve built — Midtown, Brightside, 51 Dental, and Acadia — live on the dental clinics page, where we go through them properly.

Healthcare websites can't be "set and forget" — so don't be the one stuck updating them
Clinics change constantly: practitioners join and leave, programs open and close, hours shift, public-health guidance moves. A website that lags reality doesn’t just look neglected — it sends people to the wrong door.
That’s why our healthcare sites come with the upkeep built in. We host them, we make the updates you email us, and we handle the software patching, daily backups, and security underneath — the Enhanced Ongoing Services arrangement every Becker site runs on. Your clinic manager’s job is to tell us what changed. Ours is to make sure the website already agrees with the sign on your door.
Bring us the website your clinic has outgrown
We'll review it with you — patient path, referrer path, booking, accessibility — and give you an honest read on refresh versus rebuild. Get in touch; the first conversation costs nothing but half an hour.
