Overview

Web Design & Development Project Overview

Optima HR provides fractional human resources — the arrangement where a company too small for an HR department rents one a few days a month. It is a service sold almost entirely on the credibility of the person delivering it, and the brief reflected that: the client arrived with a clear and unusually disciplined idea of what she wanted, which was for the design to get out of the writing’s way.

What that meant in practice was restraint. A warm, plain layout with very little in it, each service given its own page, with a consult request form sitting on it rather than parked on a contact page three clicks later. Testimonials were built in but deliberately held back at launch, because a new practice with two reviews looks worse with a testimonials section than without one — the structure went in ready, and stayed hidden until there was enough to show.

Deep Dive

What actually went into OptimaHR’s build, decision by decision — and the service behind each one.

  • 01

The client knew exactly what she wanted

Most briefs arrive as a list of features. This one arrived as a constraint: keep it clean enough that the words carry the page. That is a harder instruction to follow than a long feature list, and a better one — the work becomes deciding what to leave out, which is where restraint either holds or quietly stops holding.

Put the form on the page, not at the end

Each service page carries its own consult request rather than routing to a general contact page. Somebody who has just finished reading about the exact thing they need should not have to navigate anywhere to say so. The moment of highest intent is the paragraph they are on, and that is where the form belongs.

Two testimonials is worse than none

The testimonials section was built and then deliberately switched off at launch. A brand-new consultancy showing a thin handful of reviews is advertising that it is brand new. Building the structure and holding it until there is something worth showing is the right call, and it takes discipline to make when the section is sitting there working.

    She is the product

Fractional HR is bought from a person, not a firm. A company handing over its employment files is choosing who to trust with them, and everything on the site had to serve that judgement — which is why the design does so little and the writing does so much. There is no version of this that works with stock photography and adjectives.

In their words
Deidre L. — OptimaHR★★★★★

I recently had the pleasure of working with Becker Design & Media to build a website for my local business, and I must say, they did an excellent job. From the initial consultation to the final launch, he was professional, responsive, and attentive to my needs. He listened carefully to my requirements and offered valuable suggestions to improve the site’s functionality and design.

The website he built is simply amazing. It’s visually appealing, easy to navigate, and has all the features I need to showcase my products and services. Bryn also made sure that the site was optimized for search engines, which has already started to pay off in increased traffic and sales.

Throughout the process, Bryn kept me informed and updated, and they were always available to answer my questions and address any concerns I had. I’m extremely happy with the end result, and I would highly recommend Becker Design & Media to anyone looking for a top-notch web development partner. Thanks again for a job well done!
