Overview

Web Design & Development Project Overview

Midtown Dental Clinic is in the office tower above Midtown Plaza, which makes it the dentist for downtown Saskatoon’s working population — people who book around a lunch hour and walk from the office rather than driving across town. Three clinics in the city share an owner; this was the second of them onto the system worked out at 51 Dental.

Nine services are given a page apiece, including Kidtown, the clinic’s own name for its children’s dentistry, which gets treated as the small sub-brand it is rather than a line item. A News section gives the practice somewhere to post that is genuinely easy to keep going, and the whole site is built light so it loads quickly on a phone in a mall food court.

Deep Dive

What actually went into Midtown Dental Clinic’s build, decision by decision — and the service behind each one.

Kidtown gets to be its own thing

The clinic named its children's dentistry Kidtown, which is a real piece of brand thinking and would have been wasted as a bullet on a services list. It sits in the service structure as its own page with its own name, so a parent searching for a dentist their kid won't hate finds something that was clearly built for them rather than a paragraph about paediatric provision.

A dentist for people who work downtown

Being in the tower above Midtown Plaza decides who this clinic is for: people booking around a lunch hour, walking from an office, fitting an appointment into a working day. That is a different patient from a neighbourhood practice's, and it changes what the site leads with — where you are and how quickly you can be seen, ahead of anything else.

    Nine services, in patients' words

Checkups, cleaning, esthetics, implants, emergency care, Invisalign, extractions, root canals, Kidtown. Nine pages, each one a thing somebody types into a search bar during a bad evening or a long-postponed decision. The structure is deliberately unclever — one page per thing a patient might want, titled as the patient would say it, which is most of what dental SEO actually is.

Light enough for a food-court phone

A downtown clinic gets looked up on phones, indoors, on whatever signal a shopping centre allows. The site was built light on purpose — the pages are small, there is little to download, and none of it depends on a good connection to become useful. Speed here is not a scoreboard number; it is whether the person standing in the food court gets an answer before giving up.
