Martensville Web Design

Becker Design is fifteen minutes down Highway 12, in Saskatoon. Two businesses with Martensville addresses run on websites we built — one of them headquartered here, not branched here — and you can drive past both of them in the same trip.

Two addresses

Both of them on this side of the highway

Modern Closet is at 928 8th Street South — a Martensville company, head office and all, not somebody’s satellite. Vern’s Pizza is on Centennial Drive. One builds storage; one makes the thick-crust pizza. We built both websites and we host them both, which is roughly the range of this job.

Martensville is the shortest trip on this whole list of cities, so the usual paragraph about remote work doesn’t really apply. Here’s the version that does.

Almost none of a build needs anybody in the room — the kickoff is a call, the content lives in a shared document, and the site itself gets built on a dev site you can watch from your phone. But the parts that do want a person on site are the parts that make a website look like your business rather than a stock catalogue: photographs of the actual shop, an afternoon with whoever’s going to keep the site current. From here that’s a fifteen-minute drive, so we don’t ration it.

After launch we do the hosting, updates, upkeep, backups, security, and support. Six things, one bill.

The straight answer

What you’re actually buying from a studio down the highway

There are cheaper ways to get a website than hiring us, and if all you need is a page with your hours and a phone number, take one of them. We’d tell you that on the call.

What we’re built for is the business that’s outgrown that — where the site has to explain a product range, or take a booking, or hold up when a general contractor checks you out before sending work your way. Done once, properly, and looked after for years afterward so it doesn’t quietly rot. That’s the whole offer, and being fifteen minutes away is a convenience rather than the reason.

Who this tends to be

The industries we’ve actually done this for

Two of these have a Martensville address on the books. The rest are honest about not having one. Five cards, not fifteen — we’d rather show the ones we can speak to.

  • 01MARTENSVILLE HQ — 8TH ST S

Contractors — including one headquartered here

Modern Closet builds and installs storage out of 8th Street South. Not a branch of a Saskatoon company — a Martensville business with a Martensville address. We built the site and we host it. More on contractor websites.

  • 02CENTENNIAL DRIVE

Restaurants — including the one on Centennial

Vern’s Pizza, home of the Original Thick, has been on Centennial Drive long enough to be a landmark. The site’s whole job is getting a hungry person to the ordering page without a detour. More on restaurant websites.

  • 03

    Construction companies

Elance Steel and Saskatoon Truck Parts both operate out of Corman Park, which is closer to here than it is to downtown Saskatoon. Nothing with a Martensville address yet. More on construction websites.

  • 04

    Health care and clinics

A town that adds a few hundred people a year eventually adds clinics. Ours are all in Saskatoon so far — Prairie Diagnostic Services, Midtown, 51 Dental. More on health care websites.

  • 05

    Professional services

Accountants, advisors, consultants — a lot of them working from a home office out here and meeting clients in the city. OptimaHR and Your Voice Consulting are the closest we’ve built. More on professional services.

Asked and answered

Questions we actually get asked

Usually in the first ten minutes of the call.

  • Where are you, actually?

Saskatoon, fifteen minutes down Highway 12. Close enough that “remote” isn’t really the right word for it.

  • Have you built anything in Martensville?

Two: Modern Closet on 8th Street South and Vern’s on Centennial Drive. Modern Closet is headquartered here, which is rarer than it sounds — most out-of-town work we do is somebody’s branch.

  • We’re small. Is that a problem?

No. A lot of what we build is for businesses with under ten people, and the site usually matters more to them than it does to the big ones — it’s doing the work a sales team would otherwise do.

  • Can we update it ourselves?

Yes, and most clients do. You get a backend built around your actual content — your services, your people, your hours — so changing something is filling in the thing you want changed. The layout isn’t yours to break.

04 — FOUR QUESTIONS. THE REST ARE A FIFTEEN-MINUTE DRIVE AWAY.

Tell us what you’re working on

Tell us what the business does and what the website is supposed to do for it. You’ll get back a real scope and a real number, in writing, before you commit to anything. Or call — 306.292.7660 — and if it’s easier we’ll come to you, which is fifteen minutes.
