The Canadian Retina Society is the national body for ophthalmologists who work on vitreoretinal disease — a small, highly specialised profession whose members largely already know each other. That inverts the usual purpose of a website: no audience to attract, no case to make; the job is to be the reliable place where a scattered specialty keeps its shared business.
So the site is built around the four things such a society actually does: admit and maintain a membership, run an annual meeting, publish positions the profession can cite, and circulate clinical cases among people qualified to discuss them. Position statements appear in both English and French, because a national medical body in Canada does not get to publish in one. Everything else is deliberately thin, which on a site like this is a feature rather than an omission.
