Overview

Web Design & Development Project Overview

Mesa Mechanical moved from residential work into commercial and industrial plumbing, HVAC and mechanical services, and the website had to move with it. That is a harder rebrand than it sounds: the two markets share a trade and share almost nothing else. A homeowner wants a friendly number to call about a furnace. A property manager wants to know whether you can hold a service contract across six buildings.

So the site was rebuilt to speak to the second one. Each service is broken out separately instead of appearing as a line in a list, which is both how commercial buyers search and how the site holds ground on more than one search term at a time. A filterable projects section runs beside them, each job tied to the services it used. The company material — safety, history, community involvement, leadership — is broken into separate pages rather than a single About, and a careers section runs alongside, because in the trades the recruiting problem and the sales problem are the same problem.

Deep Dive

What actually went into Mesa Mechanical’s build, decision by decision — and the service behind each one.

    Same trade, entirely different buyer

Moving from residential to commercial and industrial does not change what the crews do. It changes who signs. A property manager evaluating a service contract across several buildings needs different proof, different language and a different order of information than a homeowner with a broken furnace, and a site built for the second cannot quietly serve the first.

One page per service, for two reasons

Commercial buyers search for the specific thing — makeup air, glycol systems, backflow testing — not for "mechanical contractor". Giving each service a page matches how the searching happens and, as a side effect, means the site competes on a dozen terms instead of one. The structural argument and the sales argument point the same way here.

Break the About page into pieces

Safety. History. Community involvement. Leadership. Each got its own page instead of four headings sharing one scroll, since whoever needs the safety record is not whoever is reading the history, and neither wants to scroll past the other. Long About pages are where useful information goes to be unfindable.

Hiring and selling are the same page problem

A mechanical contractor's hardest constraint is journeymen, not work. Careers is maintained like everything else on the site rather than treated as an afterthought — because the same site that convinces a property manager you can staff the contract is what convinces a tradesperson you are worth working for.
