Becker Design is in Saskatoon, five hours up the road through Regina and Weyburn — the longest drive to anywhere in Saskatchewan we’ve written a page for. Two of our builds have Estevan on them anyway, and the distance has never been the thing anyone complained about.
Five hours away, and here anyway
Legal Aid Saskatchewan runs its south-east office on 3rd Street. Coal Creek Festival happens down at Roche Percee and buses people out of the curling rink lot on Souris Avenue — we built the site that sells the tickets and explains where the shuttle goes. A legal service and a music festival is an odd pair, which is roughly what a decade and a half of this looks like.
Five hours, and why it has never actually mattered

Estevan is the farthest corner of the province from us. Let’s not pretend otherwise, and let’s be specific about what it changes.
The build doesn’t change at all. Kickoff is a call. The written content lives in a shared document, and how fast it fills in is what decides your launch date — not the highway. The site gets built on a dev site, a private space on the web where the new website comes to life, and you have the link from day one so nothing is a surprise. When it’s ready we flip a switch at the domain and the old site is gone.
What five hours does change is the casual visit — there isn’t one. So the site visits that matter get planned deliberately and done properly: photographs of the real place, a session with whoever is going to keep the site current. Everything else is a call, a document and a link.
Afterward, the hosting, updates, upkeep, backups, security, and support run on their own — six things, one bill. A server doesn’t know where Estevan is.
At five hours, hire us for the right reasons
There is a version of this job we would be bad at from here. If you need a person on site regularly — product photography every season, retraining staff as they turn over, sitting in on meetings — five hours each way is a genuine cost and you should hire closer to home. We’d say that on the first call rather than let you discover it.
The version we’re good at is the one where the website gets built once, correctly, and then looked after quietly for years by somebody who answers his own email. That has run from here to Estevan twice without incident, and it’s what 14 years of doing this has mostly been.

Legal Aid Saskatchewan’s south-east office is on 3rd Street. The site had one non-negotiable: somebody arriving worried has to land on the right page immediately, and staff have to be able to correct a detail themselves. More on law firm websites.

Arts and music — including the festival down at Roche Percee
Coal Creek Festival runs in the valley and buses people out of Estevan. A festival site is a calendar problem wearing a poster: dates, lineup, tickets, and exactly where the shuttle leaves from, all correct on a phone in a field. More on arts and music websites.

Mining and heavy industry
Coal and oil country, and we haven’t built for it here yet. Our heavy-industry work is the Northern Strands companies, Fortis and SECON, all further north — built around the questions procurement people ask first. More on mining websites.

Doesn’t five hours make this awkward?
For a few kinds of job, yes — we’ve written down which ones above rather than bury it. For a build-it-properly-and-look-after-it job, no. Two Estevan-area clients would tell you the same.
Can you take over the site we already have?
Maybe — we’d want a look first. Sometimes it’s sound and the move is to take over the account and manage it from here. Sometimes it’s overdue for a rebuild, and saying otherwise would be selling you a year of patching. We’ll tell you which, for free.
